About Soroush Seifirad, M.D., RPVI, RVT, DABIM, DABVM, DABVLM
“I would like to do something meaningful in my life, and nothing is more fulfilling than serving those underserved. I am humbled to be the first and only fellowship-trained Venous and Lymphatic Medicine Specialist in the Black Hills region. I hope to bring state of the art treatment to patients suffering from venous and lymphatic disorders. Venous disorders are more common than you can imagine. All of us know someone with bulgy or ugly veins or annoying spider veins; plenty of us suffer from heavy or swollen legs at the end of the day, or disrupted by painful charley horses or restless legs at night."
Dr. Seifirad is among a select group of physicians in the United States with specialized fellowship training in venous and lymphatic disorders, which reflects his advanced expertise in this highly focused field.
Triple board-certified in Internal Medicine, Vascular Medicine and Venous and Lymphatic Medicine, Dr. Seifirad has more than 15 years of clinical experience. He specializes in the diagnosis and minimally invasive treatment of venous and vascular conditions and practices such advanced procedures as endovenous laser therapy, radio frequency ablation, VenaSeal closure, ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy and phlebectomy. His clinical interests also include atherosclerosis and complex vascular disease, with a focus on improving circulation, reducing symptoms and preventing long-term complications.
Dr. Seifirad is also an accomplished research scientist with more than 40 peer-reviewed publications and over 1,000 citations in international medical journals. Through his clinical and translational research, he has helped advance our understanding of complex conditions. He also serves as a reviewer and editor for several medical journals. His work has been acknowledged with several honors, including the New York Vein Symposium Physician in Training Scholarship, Harvard Medical School Scholarship in Applied Biostatistics, ERS Silver Sponsorship, ERS Lung Science Sponsorship, and the ALAT Awarded Scholarship for best research. He is driven by the desire to maintain his intellectual curiosity and contribute extensively to the advancement of the medical field.
Outside of his medical pursuits, Dr. Seifirad is a painter, classical pianist, multi-instrumentalist and composer, who is enthusiastic about the arts, history and literature. Once an avid mountain climber and swimmer, he now prefers to travel and read in his spare time.
