About Patrick M. Tibbles, M.D.
Dr. Tibbles is a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician. His initial residency training was through the U.S. Navy at Portsmouth Naval Medical Center in Virginia. He then went on to serve the U.S. Navy Submarine and Diving Force at the Naval Submarine Base in New London, Conn. for three years as a submarine and diving researcher and medical officer. Dr. Tibbles completed a residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, Mass. where he distinguished himself by publishing in the prestigious New England Journal of Medicine as a second-year resident. He relocated to South Dakota with his family in 1998.
Dr. Tibbles currently serves as the Vice Chair of Emergency Medicine for Monument Health. He is also the Medical Director for Monument Health’s Hyperbaric program which provides treatment for all types of wounds, including those caused by medical radiation to diabetic foot wounds and bone infections, as well as life-threatening infections and poisonings. Dr. Tibbles is a Clinical Associate Professor for the University of South Dakota’s Sanford School of Medicine.
